Out of the blue.

Well. Huh. It looks like things are looking up.

I know....weird.

A few months ago I interviewed for a job at a local paper. It wasn't a fantastic job, writing the classified ads, but when compared with my current position and the high occurance of having my ass handed to me by clients, it looked pretty good. And, since I really wanted it, I of course didn't get the job. So I just threw the whole experience on top of the pile of disappointments and moved on.

But today, the woman I interviewed with called me up at work. After playing phone tag all morning, we finally connected and she offered me a job.

I have to say, the timing was perfect. About two days ago I offically Burned Out. My case load has grown to unreal proportions but since I've managed to keep up with the work, my supervisors decided to give me even more work which now includes meeting with families that only speak Spanish. I don't speak Spanish. Oh, but the new guy does so he can translate for me while I train him, which is SO NOT MY JOB. And as of earlier this week, I stopped caring completely. Today my "job" included fiddling around on my Ipod, having a 45-minute phone conversation with my mom, writing a letter, and eating a handful of Otter Pops I found in the break room freezer.

So, hurray! I found a new job, one that is actually in a field I'm interested in! And sure, I'll be making less money, but I'm pretty sure I'll lose my desire to slap people across the face. I'm putting in my two weeks notice on Monday and then plan on spending those two weeks figuring out how to take full advantage of my health insurance while I still have it (I have to wait 90 for my insurance to kick in at my new[!] job) and of course stealing as many office supplies as humanly possible. Does anyone need some Post-its?
